Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective, evidence-based psychological therapy recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for a range of mental health difficulties.
At Wildflower Hill Therapy, our therapists are trained to postgraduate level in CBT and are fully accredited with the BABCP. We offer standalone CBT for a wide range of psychological difficulties, tailoring treatment to your individual needs, goals, and preferences.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL
THERAPY (CBT)
What is CBT?
CBT helps you understand the links between your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours, and how these patterns may contribute to the difficulties you are experiencing.
By understanding these links more clearly, you can begin to make meaningful, lasting changes.
What Can CBT Help With?
We offer CBT for a wide range of psychological difficulties, including:
- Anxiety and generalised anxiety
- Social anxiety
- Panic attacks and panic disorder
- Depression and low mood
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Health anxiety
- Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
- Low self-esteem
- Perfectionism
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Phobias and fears
- Stress and burnout
- Emotional regulation difficulties
CBT can also be helpful when difficulties overlap. For example, people experiencing eating disorders may also experience depression, anxiety or OCD. Similarly, anxiety may occur alongside perfectionism, or health anxiety may contribute to low mood.
These difficulties can sometimes interact with and reinforce one another, so it is important to understand the wider picture rather than focusing on one difficulty in isolation. Your therapist will work with you to develop an individual formulation - a shared understanding of the factors contributing to and maintaining your difficulties, and create a treatment plan that reflects your needs, goals and preferences.
A Flexible, Individualised Approach
CBT can be adapted to your individual goals and preferences. For some people, this may involve focused therapy with specific goals and targeted interventions. For others, it may mean drawing on helpful CBT tools and strategies alongside a broader exploration of their experiences.
We work collaboratively with you, offering guidance and recommendations while ensuring you remain involved in decisions about your treatment. Our aim is to provide practical, compassionate therapy that supports meaningful and lasting change.
